Volcanic processes
How magma fragments during explosive eruptions, and what the textures of volcanic rocks reveal about their formation.

Volcanology. Experimental petrology. Geochemistry.
I study how rocks and crystals record the processes that shape Earth and the Moon.
My research combines laboratory experiments, microscopy, chemical measurements, and numerical models to investigate magma, mineral growth, and the preservation of geological histories.
Research interests
How magma fragments during explosive eruptions, and what the textures of volcanic rocks reveal about their formation.
How minerals grow and exchange elements, and how chemical and isotopic patterns can constrain the timescales of magmatic processes.
What lunar minerals preserve about the Moon’s early history, and how later processes can modify that record.
